Add a keyword channel to your dashboard
Adding a keyword channel allows you to build a channel that monitors keywords across a
set of chosen feeds or across
the entire library.
To add a keyword channel, click the 'Add Keyword Channel' button in the left nav menu.
A new keyword channel will appear to the right of your existing channels where you will see the keyword channel settings and a live view of the filtered posts based on your configuration.
Enter your keyword(s) into the 'Keywords' input box.
If you would like to add multiple keywords you can combine using commas and plus signs as OR and AND separators.
Once you've entered your keywords, hit enter to update the live results in the channel.
Examples:
This will return posts containing "Fed" OR "Powell"
This will return posts containing "Fed" AND "Powell"
This will return posts containing "Fed" AND "Powell" OR "Fed" AND "Brainard"
You can also choose the feeds in which you want the keyword search to be applied against using the "Source" dropdown setting. By default, it is set to "All Feeds" which means keywords are searched for in posts from all feeds in Harkster.
You can limit this by choosing to apply the keyword search against one of the pre-built Harkster feeds, for example "Top Financial Press" or "Commodities".
In the channel settings menu, you also have the following options:
View Feeds: Shows you the feed providers of the latest posts contained in the source list that you are searching against.
Name: Allows you to rename your channel. Remember to press the tick icon to save.
Left/Right arrows: Move your channel left or right to position it where suits on your dashboard.
Delete: Delete the entire channel. This cannot be undone.
To close the channel settings, hit the channel settings button in the title bar of the channel.
To search the channel, hit the search button in the title bar of the channel to open a search box.
